Holmes shot a 4-under 68 to win individual honors and help Isleworth defeat Lake Nona Golf and Country Club for the Tavistock Cup on Tuesday. Lake Nona’s Ian Poulter shot 69 to finish second in the individual event, one stroke ahead of Isleworth players Mark O’Meara and Tiger Woods — who had won the individual competition each of the past three years. Even knowing what was being done over the past 10 months as a player consultant for the project, Henry was amazed at the changes that have been made at TPC Four Seasons course, where the PGA Tour plays in four weeks. “To see everything come full circle, I can’t believe what kind of shape the golf course is in,” Henry said Tuesday, when course officials showed off the renovations. “We always talked about what would Byron want.

International Herald Tribune – Mar 25, 2008
Gregory is going to another PGA Tour event this week in New Orleans. He will watch another player and tell another story. He will walk every hole of every round at the Zurich Classic, just as he has done the previous 12 tournaments, and will do the next 24 tournaments until his amazing journey ends at the Tour Championship. Gregory carries a handicap of 36, the highest possible. He also carries a cane.

Not by, well, a long shot. Littler's first attempt went under the fence. His next hit the top of the fence and ricocheted back into the audience, producing cries of “Fore!” His next try sailed true. Casper had no such problems, although Billy complained Gene was longer and Littler was using a wedge to his 7-iron.

NOTES:

This week, the European Tour travels to Spain for the first of four events in
the country in 2008, the Mapfre Open de Andalucia. Eleven of the top-100
players in the world rankings are in the field, including three of the top-50
- defending champion Lee Westwood (20), Martin Kaymer (23) and Spaniard Miguel
Angel Jimenez (45). Spain’s Jose Maria Olazabal is playing this week for the first time since the
PGA Championship in August of 2007, where he missed the cut. Olazabal, the
1994 and 1999 Masters champion, has not played due to persistent problems with
rheumatism. Last year, Westwood capped an impressive weekend run with a five-under 67 in
the final round to win the inaugural Open de Andalucia, his first victory in
nearly four years.
