The board voted 5-0 Monday to act on that option in itsagreement with International Golf Maintenance Inc. It is aDelaware corporation qualified to do business inMassachusetts with a place of business in Kissimmee, Fla. Wolowicz told selectmen that the price offered by thecompany is “quite low” and represents only about 2percent over the amount set for the current year’smaintenance. The company is currently operating under anagreement to work for $505,185 for the period from March 1,2008 to February 28, 2009.

Dye has dug and moved dirt in a fashion spectacular enough to earn him induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame Monday night in St. Augustine for lifetime achievement as a course designer. Not bad for someone who, as legend has it, sketched his famous Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass on a napkin. "You're always surprised at something like this," Dye said of the honor. "There are all sorts of people (in the Hall) who have done great things for the game, so it's humbling to be included.

Individuals to tee off for section golf title today

Among the contenders are North Area winner Hannah Sodersten of Clovis East High and runner-up Kirsten Keyser of Yosemite; Asia Adell of Clovis West; Madchen Ly of Clovis; Central Area winner Megan Cochran and runner-up Shaylee Yano, both of Kingsburg; and Mica Guzman of Garces.
