the 2008 International Golf Travel Market’s (IGTM) annual meeting held Nov. 17-20 in Marbella, Spain. “The IAGTO award affirms that the DR has arrived on the international
scene as an important new ‘It’ destination for golf. The world is taking
notice of the DR’s world-class designer golf courses set amid stunning sea
sides, beaches and mountains in an accessible and affordable destination,” DR

(AP) — Arkansas women’s golf coach Shauna Estes-Taylor has been selected for the National Golf Coaches Association Coaches and Players Hall of Fame. The school announced the honor Tuesday. “I feel very honored to be named to the NGCA Player’s Hall of Fame,” Estes-Taylor said. “First, I need to thank my parents for giving me the opportunity to achieve my dream of playing collegiate and professional golf. Secondly, I must thank Beans Kelly, my college coach, who had an amazing impact on my life and always challenged me to be the best in the classroom and on the golf course.

PAINTER: Pavin should head Ryder Cup

Pavin played in the Ryder Cup three times (he was 8-5 in matches) and was an assistant to Tom Lehman in 2006. He lives for this event. He thinks it’s the Holy Grail of golf. The PGA of America met recently and made no announcement, but said something about wanting to bask in the enjoyment of the thrilling Ryder Cup victory under Paul Azinger. I wouldn’t think it would need this much time to decide Azinger would be a good fit again. We already know he would.
