and a week after his best tournament of the year #8212; a final-round 62 Sunday that left him tied for 17th at the Hong Kong Open. “I’m just trying to do the best I can trying to get my golf game back” Daly said. “Everybody goes through ups and downs in life. Unfortunately mine are more publicized than most. ”
In 2008 alone those “downs” included being fired by his swing coach Butch Harmon and a disqualification at the Arnold Palmer Invitational #8212; not to mention the drunken evening at a Hooters that landed him in jail Oct.

26 2008 01:10 PM The Arizona Republic Jack Bartko who has served as a club pro at Arizona courses for 45 years is among three men inducted this week to the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame. Joining Bartko were superintendent Mike Pock and longtime golf writer Jack Rickard. Bartko 67 of Pinetop has served as head pro at White Mountain Country Club since 1972 after working at several Valley courses. His brother Joe Bartko was inducted to the Hall in 2006. Pock 62 is part of a family with a storied history of caring for Arizona courses.

Walnut Creek council to hold special golf course meeting Monday

Current Council members and those newly elected will meet at 11:30 a. Monday at Boundary Oak Golf Course 3800 Valley Vista Drive to take a facilities tour of the city-owned course restaurant and clubhouse. They will also receive and discuss information about course operations and the transition to a new golf course operator. The meeting is open to the public and there will be time set aside for public comment.

Frisco teen wins junior golf event

Austin Green of Frisco won the boys 16-18 division of the Worldlink Open a Texas Junior Golf Tour event last weekend at Bridlewood GC in Flower Mound. Green shot 72-73 finishing five strokes ahead of Jared Street of Lake Dallas. In boys 12-15 Vincent Whaley of McKinney shot 77-73 to win his second TJGT event by one stroke over David Pryde of Flower Mound.

Public play will resume Dec. Off-peak summer rates will be $20 and $40. Carts are available for $15 per rider. Phoenix golf cards are available for $50 at any of the city’s courses.  During December tee-time preference will be given to city cardholders.

King City golf cart ordinance up for vote Dec. 3

php’> Before King City residents get their feathers ruffled again over a proposed ordinance that would regulate the use of golf carts low-speed utility vehicles and other alternative-transportation vehicles on municipal roads in the city City Council members hope that people will just get the facts straight. The plan first came up in August and residents have spoken out at several council meetings about what they percieved to be proposed changes to the current ordinance. 19 City Council meeting City Manager Dave Wells offered up a summary of the ordinance which states both what it does and does not do. The primary purpose of the changes are two-fold according to Wells.
