GLF RUNDUP: Tiger is back in TV ad too
Pasadena Star-News CA -
The only ones bummed are Woods’ fellow Nike Golf endorsers Anthony Kim Stewart Cink Trevor Immelman Justin Leonard and Carl Pettersson who realize the fun’s over for them. That’s the premise of a new Nike Golf television commercial celebrating Woods’ return at this week’s WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Marana Ariz. The satirical spot shows Kim Cink Leonard Immelman and Pettersson enjoying “the good life” while Woods is out of action because of injury. They’re winning tournaments spraying champagne and appearing on magazine covers.

Lee will join golf’s money ranks soon
Stuff.co.nz New Zealand -
That's the view of New Zealand Golf chief executive Bill MacGowan reacting to Lee's sensational win in the Johnnie Walker Classic in Perth where he became the youngest victor on the European Tour. Lee turned down the $582000 payout determined to forge on with his plans to play the US Masters as an amateur invite courtesy of his win at the US Amateur championship last September. Lee will turn professional after the Masters in April. The 18-year-old already has management companies chasing his signature – IMG who manage Tiger Woods are favoured to snare Lee – and invites to other top tournaments lining up. He's also now got the luxury of a two-year exemption on the European Asian and Australasian tours to help bed him into the money ranks.

He walked off the 18th green one shot out of the lead. By the time Couples was done being interviewed Mickelson had completed his birdie binge. “This is my big day tomorrow to have a shot at winning” Couples said. Kirk Triplett (73) a Pullman High School graduate was tied for 42nd place at 210.

Taking a swing at golf camp
Chicago Tribune United States -
CST): I am in rlando Fla. listening to the fireworks from Walt Disney World watching the scars on the hotel TV and streaming the Blackhawks game on my laptop via Slingbox and the TV in my office back in Chicago. I have come to rlando seeking a fix for my non-existent golf swing. I have just recently taken up golf at age 54 and with each lesson I seem to get worse. "How hard can it be?" I thought to myself as I announced my intentions to become a golfer to my friends and family last spring. In fact it seems almost impossible to me that I will ever be good. I might have even accidentally joined a country club.
