Heck a Tiger bogey might create more buzz than an eagle by anyone else. When Tiger shot 74 in his stop-start-stop first round the talk his entire second round was whether or not he’d make the cut and whether or not the weather was to blame. At the time he was as many as 11 strokes behind the leaders there was more focus on Tiger making or missing the cut than on who was leading the golf tournament. There are many people who won’t watch golf but will watch Tiger Woods. At this point there are probably more Tiger fans than fans of the game in general. So it stands to reason that ESPN and NBC would tether their coverage to the world’s best player. It’s just getting too much.

With rain dowsing the Salt Lake Valley nearly every day this month local golf is up to its knees in water concerns. Chuck Sorge course superintendent at Forest Dale and Nibley golf courses said that right now most of the deluge is under control since the sun has shown its unfamiliar face over the last few days.
